QOTD: What State Outline Would Make a Good Racetrack?

qotd what state outline would make a good racetrack

Today’s QOTD is a weird one, I know, but my brain works in weird ways sometimes.

Over the weekend, I was walking into the grocery store when I saw a fellow customer wearing a T-shirt that had something to do with New Jersey and had the Garden State outlined on it. Maybe it’s because I’d just been trying to learn Laguna Seca last week, but at a glance I thought it was a racetrack map before realizing it was a graphic of Tony Soprano’s homeland.

Anyway, I got to thinking — if you took the outlines of the 50 states, could any be translated into a racetrack shape? I think Jersey could, obviously, but beyond that, I don’t know. Some obviously wouldn’t work, like Hawaii, since it’s, you know, islands. States like Wyoming or Colorado would be too boring. But a few might work.

Is this a crazy question, or did someone spike my coffee with something? If it’s not crazy, what states would work?

Sound off below.
