The Honda Pilot has always been a family-friendly SUV with plenty of room, but the automaker has been pushing it toward more rugged styling and an adventurous personality in recent years. Honda recently introduced the TrailSport variant with all-terrain tires and an off-road look, and for 2025, the SUV is getting a new Black Edition that brings 20-inch wheels and dark exterior trim for an aggressive look.
The Black Edition also gets red interior accents with perforated leather upholstery and red interior accent lighting. A Black Edition logo is stitched on the seats and floor mats, and the red stitching continues on the door panels, steering wheel, and center console.
Honda left the Pilot’s powertrain alone, so the 3.5-liter V6 and ten-speed automatic transmission stuck around for another year. It produces 285 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque and sends it to the front or all four wheels. The TrailSport and new Black Edition trims get AWD by default.
HondaSensing safety equipment comes standard, bringing automatic emergency braking, forward collision warnings, lane keep assist, lane departure alerts, adaptive cruise control, and more. Buyers can add an HPD Package to the TrailSport trim, which brings graphics, bronze wheels, and other upgrades for $2,000.
The 2025 Pilot starts at $41,295, including a $1,395 destination charge. The new range-topping Black Edition starts at a whopping $55,675, pushing the Pilot’s starting price close to premium vehicle territory.
