The Lucid Air sedan is one of the most impressive electric vehicles to debut, but its often deep-six-figure price tag has put it out of reach for a significant number of potential buyers. Lucid is taking steps to make the price more appealing, and through September 30, the Air Pure is available for a monthly lease price that rivals much cheaper models’ deals.
The 2024 Lucid Air Pure is available on a 36-month lease for $549 per month and $5,549 due at signing, which comes to an effective monthly price of $703. That compares favorably to the lease prices for a 2024 Mercedes-Benz C300, which has the same monthly payment, a $4,843 down payment, and a $684 effective cost.
As CarsDirect pointed out, that slight price difference doesn’t matter much when you consider the Lucid’s year of free charging and $5,000 bonus on in-stock Pure vehicles. Gas models like the Mercedes don’t have free fill-ups, pushing their annual operating costs higher than the Lucid’s, and its 419-mile driving range is a compelling feature in its segment.
Incentives have become a primary method for juicing EV sales, and Lucid is far from the only automaker pursuing them. Honda has offered stout discounts on the new GM-built Prologue (enough for me to buy one on a sub-$300/month lease), helping it set its best sales month yet. The automaker moved 5,401 units in August, with 10,394 deliveries since March.
